Tamper-Evident Area Seals for Restricted Doors & Equipment Rooms

Hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality properties have plenty of doors that are supposed to stay closed between inspections or service calls — electrical panels, mechanical rooms, pool equipment closets, storage areas. When a door like that is sealed, anyone can tell at a glance whether it's been opened since the last check.

Area Seals

Why it matters

OSHA's lockout/tagout standard (29 CFR 1910.147) is the best-known federal example of this idea: any employer servicing equipment with hazardous energy has to keep the isolating device untouched, and the tags used for that have to be non-reusable and non-releasable once attached (29 CFR 1910.147(c)(5)(ii)(C)(2)) — tamper-evident by design. The same logic applies more broadly to any restricted door or panel a hospitality property needs to keep closed: a torn or missing seal is the tell that something changed.
